Job Description:

The David Crawford School of Engineering of Norwich University invites applications for a one-year appointment to the Donald M. Wallace Visiting Assistant Professor of Engineering beginning in July 2020 and ending in May 2021. The visiting position is funded by a gift from the estate of Donald M. Wallace, a Mechanical Engineering Professor at Norwich University for fifty-five years.

Responsibilities include teaching the theory and practice of mechanical engineering to undergraduate students and working with colleagues in the School.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in the Mechanical Engineering Program to include the following subject areas: Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Computer Aided Design and Analysis, Kinematics and Design of Machine Elements, Introduction to Engineering, Mechanical Measurements Laboratory, and advising Capstone Design Projects.


Requirements:

Preference will be given to candidates with established records of teaching excellence or experienced practitioners from industry. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with extensive teaching or industry experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
