External candidates are eligible for a one-time signing bonus of $10,000 (prorated for part time roles).A relocation package of $9,200 (pro-rated for part-time roles) is also available for relocating applicants.

As an RN on our Emergency Response Team, you will be responsible for responding to all medical emergencies at UVMMC. This includes rapid responses, code blues (arrests), MET, strokes, mass transfusions, etc. You will also be responsible for 'nurse only' calls which includes reviewing patients, as well as providing insight, support, and supplemental therapies at the request of other nurses and providers.

Our Emergency Response RNs also spend time on our inpatient units supporting and coaching staff; providing both at the elbow and formal education on a variety of emergency related topics. As an Emergency Response team member, you will use a broad range of skills and depth of experience on a wide scope of medical emergencies. A can-do attitude, flexibility, independence, and excellent communication skills are needed to be successful on this team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides professional nursing care to patients in varying state of health and illness by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care. The Staff Nurse II functions as an essential member of nursing and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct patient care, instruction, and preparation for continuing care after discharge. May take charge as operational need allows.

EDUCATION:

Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter.

EXPERIENCE:

Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.

Greater than one year of experience.
