WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
In this role, you will lead all aspects of the embedded firmware design with a team of direct and indirect reports for data center environment and energy monitoring products on Linux and RTOS Platforms.
Provide technical guidance and responsibility for software documentation, design, and test with a global team of engineers
Facilitate technical development of the software team including tool incorporation, process improvement and adherence, and growth applications
Lead and instill best practices for design, verification, specification, and qualification of data center environment and energy monitoring product firmware
Creation of optimized Target and Applicationembedded Linuxdistributions
Direct partner and customer collaboration expanding technical relationships and growing the business
Stakeholder input on Product Roadmap development and execution
Specification of user-driven APIs that include standard peripherals such as UART, SPI, I2C, RTC
Drive maintenance activities for released product firmware upgrades
Resource allocation and planning for local direct reports and extended global team members
Ability to travel domestic and international (10% approx.) as needed including customer meetings industry events
YOU HAVE:
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Previous experience in or with:
Ideally 10+ years direct experience with embedded firmware design
Direct experience with network-conected applications preferred
Project management experience a plus
Experience in embedded Linux platform and/or embedded Linux user software development
Demonstrated experience with micro-controller and micro-processor programming
Demonstrated ability to define and execute project plans, releases, and deliveries
Experience with software tools for analysis, automation, test, and/or cybersecurity
Experience in the use of ARM Cortex A class chips, with a focus on peripheral application/IO
Experience with standard debuggers and toolchains
Experience with Agile development methodologies
History of mentoring and developing junior engineers
Skills:
C, Embedded C
Demonstrated knowledge of embedded control middle-ware including bootloader, protocol stacks,embedded file system, GUIs, network protocols
KnowledgeEmbedded Linux or RTOS
Embedded system architectural experience preferred
Familiarity with industry best practices for coding such as MISRA or similar
Creative problems-solving and diagnostic/troubleshooting abilities.
