POSITION SUMMARY
The climbing gym attendant is responsible for the day-to-day operations and guest experience at Stratton's climbing gym, Climb. Attendants will create a friendly, safe, and welcoming atmosphere for members and guest, all while promoting the great experience that Climb offers. This is a summer seasonal part-time position that pays $20.00/hour.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Positively interact with members, guests, and team members
Answer questions and troubleshoot guest needs
Ensure guests are wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for climbing activities, fitting them with rental equipment as needed
Care, organization, and cleaning of all equipment, including rental equipment and facilities
Provide members and guests with instruction on equipment use, showing guests how to wear harness and how to self-belay
Identify safety issues and communicate with management
Sell day and season passes for Climb, along with snacks and retail items
Follow and complete opening/closing procedures
Complete the guest check in processes
Process payment and ensure safety waivers are complete
Enforce facility and resort safety procedures & protocols
Monitor climbing area and ensure safety procedures are adhered to by participants and spectators
Minor cleaning of facilities and equipment
Complete and follow climbing certification training and Stratton safety trainings
Other duties related to job, as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
Requirements: Must be 16 years or older
Experience: climbing knowledge is helpful but not required
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
Team members will be required to pass basic climbing certifications and trainings along with safety trainings (provided after hire)
Basic computer and phone skills
Must be able to work independently
Willing and able to lift 30 lbs.
Must be able to bend, stand, lean, and kneel on a regular basis
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position will be required to work evenings, holidays and weekends.
Indoor Mountain Environment:
The degree of strenuous activity within the job is moderate. Often lifting a weight of 20 pounds throughout the day is common.
Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or navigating upon uneven, indoor terrain with varying surface conditions.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
Office Environment:
Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 30 pounds on an occasional basis.
Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
