The Agency of Digital Services (ADS) provides data services to agencies across the State of Vermont and solutions for all sectors within the executive branch. We seek to empower our partners with the data they need to make informed decisions and achieve their goals. ADS is looking for a lead to help us expand our statewide data governance program. Our perspective will be to use data governance to empower sharing while maintaining compliance with applicable laws. This role will help us to catalog and document our data systems, assist partner agencies with developing data stewardship programs, and work to improve the quality of our data to prepare us for AI-powered government services - all with a focus on improving outcomes and experiences for Vermonters. This role will get to work with every part of state government - from human services, to law enforcement, to natural resources, to transportation, and more.

Bachelor's degree in computer science AND four (4) years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints including design and management of physical/virtual platforms, application dependencies, system performance, failover and high availability mechanisms, capacity planning, network topology, application interoperability and service orientation frameworks and security/compliance standards such as NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA.
OR
Associate's degree in computer science AND six year or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints including design and management of physical/virtual platforms, application dependencies, system performance, failover and high availability mechanisms, capacity planning, network topology, application interoperability and service orientation frameworks and security/compliance standards such as NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA.
OR
High school diploma or equivalent AND eight (8) years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints including design and management of physical/virtual platforms, application dependencies, system performance, failover and high availability mechanisms, capacity planning, network topology, application interoperability and service orientation frameworks and security/compliance standards such as NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA.
