We are looking for persons who love to work with food and are committed to providing healthy meals to our residents. Food is a critical component in our resident's recovery, and you will be responsible for assisting in preparing healthy food, serving residents and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen. Work will include cleaning and preparing meats and vegetables for cooking, serving food, washing pots, pans, and kitchen utensils, dishwashing and cleaning the kitchen workspace.
Mission:
The River Valley Therapeutic Residence (RVTR) aims to improve the health and well-being of Vermont's most vulnerable populations while focusing on psychiatric rehabilitation services and psychosocial treatment delivered in a recovery oriented, trauma informed, person-centered, holistic environment. The program offers a safe space to focus on recovery and community integration for those individuals no longer needing hospital level of care but who are not yet ready to transition back to the community. Work is performed in an institution kitchen during an assigned shift. Incumbents may deliver food carts to various dining areas. Duties require operation of cutters and slicers, use of knives, and exposure to high heat and humidity. May be required to operate a delivery vehicle.

Working knowledge of kitchen operations in a hospital setting.
