As the Senior Footwear Product Engineer - SPORT Explore Innovation, you will create, test and refine innovative new products for Basketball and other team sports.

Our team's goal is to create disruptive experiences that go above and beyond the athlete's wildest dreams. In this role, you will be part of a close-knit cross functional team, which works closely with these athletes and creates solutions to their unmet needs.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Work with our cross functional innovation team to engineer new technical products and technologies that athletes love.

• Works closely with the athletes and product teams to understand performance/user needs.

• Communicate clearly and purposefully with overseas teams and partners to drive the products forward.

• Advises the team on a wide range of technical footwear development issues.

• Create, communicate and track development timelines to ensure milestones are met and advises on feasibility and applicability of technology to the cross functional teams.

• Performs or directs the physical testing of engineered components and creates product specifications and tech packages.

• Develops quality control specs for all new technologies and materials.

• Identifies issues, clearly communicates the problem internally/externally and offers solutions to course correct in a timely manner.

• Work on Personal Development including developing your competencies: Drive Results, Action-Oriented, Collaboration, Adaptability & Inclusion.

• Domestic and International travel may be required.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

• A graduate degree in Engineering, Material Science, Biomechanics, or related discipline.

• 6+ years professional experience, in a technical role, preferably in the footwear industry.

• Knowledge of prototyping and manufacturing processes.

• Excellent communication, multi-tasking, and organization skills with the ability and willingness to work in a team-oriented, creative environment.

• Excellent computer skills, i.e. presentation, spreadsheet, database, field-related software, and word processing.

• Experience with CAD software, i.e. Rhino, Solidworks. Gravity Sketch

• Ability to effectively balance work in-person and remotely to fit with New Ways of Working.

• A successful candidate will be curious, open minded, always up for a challenge.

• Some domestic and international travel required.

Flexible Work Schedule

For decades we have fostered a unique culture founded on our values with a particular focus on in-person teamwork and collaboration. Our North American hybrid model encourages rich in-person experiences, showcasing our commitment to teamwork and connection, while maintaining flexibility for associates. New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations. To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced "Work from Anywhere" (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year.
