Adirondack Community College is a public, two-year, open-access, comprehensive community college. The college is dedicated to the delivery of affordable, high-quality transfer, career and technical credit programs; programs and credit-free classes that support lifelong learning and workforce development opportunities; and support services that promote student success. The college is committed to the support and advancement of community economic development, and is an active participant in enhancing the intellectual, social and cultural life of the community.

Bennington regards education as a sensual and ethical, no less than an intellectual, process. Castleton, the 18th oldest institution of higher education in the United States, emphasizes undergraduate liberal arts and professional education while also offering selected graduate programs.
